The Volkswagen Atlas towing capacity is between 2,000-5,000lbs. Having the equipped 2.0-liter engine in control, you’ll be able to tow up to a max of 2,000lbs. However, if you want the optional 4MOTION® 3.6L V6 engine, your Volkswagen Atlas model will create a towing capability of up to 5,000 pounds. Both engines can be used in most Atlas trim levels besides the SEL R-Line and SEL Premium R-Line trim levels, which can only equip the 3.6-liter V6.
