Service girl was great, actual service not so good. Returned my vehicle almost 3 hours later, I got in service light still on. Told service girl, another staff tried to reset service light, but to no avail. I blamed the service manager for not QCing all vehicles out the door. Once I took off service light reset itself and went away.

This review is coming from an individual that loathes car shopping. It is unequivocally the worst thing to do and so glad it is infrequent but VW of Alamo Heights did a solid job. The entire car buying experience with them took 90 minutes from arrival to departure. Cameron at the dealership listened, acted then delivered. Car buying should be like that all the time so kudos to VW of Alamo Heights and Cameron in Sales.
The Employees were so nice, everyone was eager to help us with our questions…we will probably go back to keep our VW Taos in tip top shape…
I was concerned with a low coolant light that there could be a possible leak. I was late to my appointment but my servíce rep understood and gave me a fantastic experience, even having the technician explain the inspection and new coolant requirements to me. The service and customer experience was first-class and I’ll be back.

I had a really great buying experience here. Andy took care of me from the moment we shook hands at the door when I arrived until the time we drove my new Buzz off the lot. Easy and a LOT less hassle than way too many other dealerships out there. The price shown on the Website is the price I paid for the vehicle for the exact vehicle that I wanted - imagine that! No unnecessary add-ons that made me walk away from a lot of other places.
I was upset because i was asked for a complimentary wash and there was no wash. They didn't take off my oil change maintenance light off. I also was not told if my car needed other service's. Was expecting so much more since someone recommended me take it there. Also when booking the service online it showed mon -sat 1-4 pm you get a ten percent discount and it didn't show on her end she still gave itto me but its annoying that on my end it showed and on their end it didn't.
Was able to diagnose my vehicle and fix it within a timely manner. Very impressed with what they do at this dealership.

I am grateful for Carlos Licea, always pick a specific employee otherwise you will keep getting overlooked. Also felt a little neglected when purchasing two vehicles one new and one used. Asked to see a different color only to be dissuaded because the darker color would “get very hot in the summer”. With the used vehicle, sales person said he would follow up on getting an appointment set up to get a wheel lock key for future tire replacement— no follow up or response after purchase. Turns out the vehicle we purchased did not even require a special key which was a relief but you would think sales person could at least take a look and know weather or not we would need in the first place. Maybe he was just in a rush to get us out.

I get general maintenance done at Alamo Heights VW, but when I had an emergency repair on late on a Friday afternoon they were able to get me in within an hour of calling and got me out before closing. Their service is top notch and worth the drive wherever you are in the city.

Saleswoman was very personable and helpful. Car was in good shape as well, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was prepared before we arrived. Whole thing would have taken like 20 or 30 minutes tops if not for a finance hiccup that was our fault. The dealership itself needed some TLC (some ceiling tiles were gross, chairs and tables wobbly, etc.) but aside from that everything was good.

I have been a loyal customer of this dealership for years. Even when I lived in Austin, I would still come here because the service was consistently high quality. I have spent thousands of dollars here and have trusted this location with nearly all of my vehicle's maintenance.
Unfortunately, my most recent visit was very disappointing and did not reflect the level of service I have come to expect. There was no oil change sticker placed on my windshield, and the service light was not reset. Upon receiving my vehicle, I also noticed a scratch that was not there before.
I reported the issue immediately and was told I would be contacted within two days, but no one followed up. I had to call multiple times and leave messages. Eventually, I was asked to send photos of the damage, which I did, but I never received any acknowledgment. After two additional follow-ups, I was told the photos would be reviewed with the director and that I would be contacted with an update.
The last communication I received was on February 28, 2026. As of today, March 16, 2026, I have still not heard back.
At this point, the lack of professionalism and failure to follow through on commitments is very clear. I will accept the loss regarding the scratch on my vehicle, but after nearly 10 years of being a loyal customer, I will not be returning. I will be taking my business elsewhere to a dealership that can maintain professional standards and deliver consistent quality service.
Always treat like a valuable customer. My car is always ready usually earlier than promised. The explanation of needed service is concise and clear.
My experience at Volkswagen of Alamo Heights was tremendous! I would highly recommend them for servicing your vehicle.
I just got my vehicle diagnosed and accepted the quote to fix it. After paying $700 my check engine light is back on after driving less than 20 miles away with it. After opening the hood, the oil is still leaking (the problem they apparently fixed). I’ll be taking it back tomorrow and hope they do the right thing and fix my vehicle without trying to charge me more money.
Went for first service (10K) on my 2025 Tiguan. Easy booking online. Leilani helped me when I arrived, waited at the dealership until my service was done. Took 1.5 hours. Quick check-in and check-out. Overall, great experience with Leilani.

Volkswagen 2023 Taos purchase from Volkswagen Alamo.
On this day I walked into the dealership with the hopes of leaving with a reliable and safe vehicle. Jon sold me the vehicle and Robert approved the purchase. I left the dealership, and within 4-6 miles the car began to make a dragging sound. I pulled over at the VIA station and seen that my cars belly pan was dragging, cause the car to drive poorly. I informed Jon that I would return FEB 10, to correct this issue. I returned FEB 10, and left with no belly pan, because the current belly pan was destroyed due to me driving the car over 50 miles due to where my residence is located. Jon and I agreed I would return the following Tuesday (02/17/2026) I came on Thursday (02/19/2026) at 3pm at the request or Robert (Sales manager). I at this time had three issues. No belly pan which I was informed multiple times by Jon and Roberto that “belly pans aren’t necessary “ but they cost $296.00. The key fob battery was dying and the windshield wipers are bald. I was here on 02/17/2026 for 3.5 hours and left with a key fob battery and a full tank of gas after begging Jessie the VW manager to compensate for having come down here three separate times, spent a total of 7.5 hours at VW over the course of this issue, now having three current issues in 8 days, followed by three days of work missed, and unnecessary mileage added to my newly purchased vehicle. Jessie was rude, cold, unprofessional, and an overall disappoint as a manger. I had to call Corporate to get a belly pan, and windshield wipers. Today is 03/04/2026 I am here for a fourth time for a belly pan. I received my belly pan, simply because I involved corporate.
Leilani helped me, she was friendly, knowledgeable and made sure I had everything I needed.
Had an appointment to get my battery looked at and it turns out it was a bad battery! My service advisor Leilani was fantastic!!! Her communication was on point!

Crystal from service was amazing. However I went in for oil change and they told me my brakes were bad. I purchased my car on the 31 Oct. 2025. So they basically sold me a car with bad brakes. I asked to speak to sales manager and he never bothered to speak with me . So I ended up paying for brakes . Wish I would’ve known the brakes were bad before I purchased car.

Completely unprofessional, unethical business team, provided a completely disappointing and negative experience; Tim Bailey (sales), Jesse Spencer Jr (sales manager), Mark Payton (financing)
I co-signed for financing/used vehicle purchase early 12/31/2025- the vehicle was already listed online for sale but had not gone through inspection/service. I was told by salesperson (Tim Bailey) that there was “high possibility” the car would be ready that same day since it was early (depending on findings of inspection and needed services) or in a couple of days and it would be prioritized to front of line for service- we further discussed the situation about needing the vehicle sooner rather than later and he further stated that the vehicle seemed to be in overall good condition and wouldn’t require much service.
I received an update on 1/3/2026 and I was informed that a part needed to be replaced was waiting delivery and that it was rushed delivery. Delivery of the vehicle was not progressing like originally discussed- early on 1/5/2025 I went to a sister dealership as I was still looking to purchase a vehicle and explained the situation I was in (already have signed a financing/purchase contract but no delivery of vehicle)- I was informed by the sales team that the deal can be rescinded under the circumstances of delay and the vehicle no being delivered/driven off the lot.
I reached out to Tim Bailey via text/phone call explaining that I would not like to proceed with purchasing the vehicle and to cancel everything after 3 business (5 calendar days). I had also reached out to Ally financial services that day, 1/5/26- in the morning and afternoon, and they informed me that the contract had not been received/processed indicating it can be canceled by dealership.
I went in person to talk to Tim Bailey Monday 1/5 and requested to speak to his manager, and he informed Jesse Spencer was his manager and was notified about me waiting to speak to him. Tim was evading my requests and still pressing that car would be ready soon. It seemed like I was being evaded since first requesting to rescind the contract; I waited 20 minutes for Jesse Spencer and he never showed up- that was all the time I had to spare as I had to get to work.
I did not get any response that day, the following day 1/6 I forwarded the email requesting cancellation to Mark Payton.
I did not get a response Jan. 7-9- I called Jan. 10 and was able to speak to Jesse Spencer and he gave me an update that the vehicle not only needed a part but also a tool to install that part and that was pending delivery as well. At this point, 11 days since signing, delivery of the vehicle was due to circumstances outside the control of both parties- they customer should not have to
I requested over 8 times via various communication methods to at least 4 different employees as of 1/5 about cancellation- I have been evaded since then.
I was called 1/14 and notified that the vehicle was ready- and again I notified a different staff member that I have been requesting to cancel since 1/5.
I spoke to Ally numerous times since the 1/5- on 1/12, 1/19, and 1/22- they informed the same thing each call, that the contract can be canceled by dealership by sending them cancellation forms.
Today, 1/24/26, the car was dropped off (abandoned) on my street a few houses down from my home- poorly parked, unlocked, with the keys inside.
How is this right or ethical business behavior? These individuals engage in horrible business practices- when it comes down to helping and doing the right thing, they will do the right thing for themselves and their bottom line- they truly demonstrated zero integrity and poor character and don't care about having a negative impact on a customer. All this caused me to incur additional unexpected expenses and unnecessary stress.
I own my mistakes in this case- my mistake here was being too trusting that business would be conducted in good faith and reasonable professionalism
I’ve been visiting your service dept for all of my cars needs for a decade. I have 2 Jettas which your employees keep running in excellent shape. I’d like to specifically mention Leilani, crystal and Francisco as my 3 go-to’s at your facility. I smile when I see them because I know I’ll be in good hands. I trust them to be fair and honest always. They give your company a very good reputation and as long as you have employees like them I’ll continue to visit and purchase the families next Jetta from you.

I've been coming here for a while. I think they're great. I did have a Saturday appt Jan. 2 at 1:45. I was surprised when I was told it would be 2 hrs. It had taken maybe an hour ea. time before. It ended up taking 3 hrs and 15 min. They also didn't have my air filter (VW) in stocks. My service manager, Roselyn, came through for me in a MAJOR way, however! I'll just remember to not schedule appts. on Saturday.
